Live Streaming Platform Configuration Guide

Configuration Steps

1.  Setting up audio devices

● Click the "Settings" button to enter the Settings page.

● Select Stream Input (Maono Arena) channel for Mic/Auxiliary Audio and Chat Output (Maono Arena) channel for monitoring device in [Audio], and then click "OK" button.

2.  Arena Audio Settings

Open Maono Arena, click on the icon on the top bar of the homepage and go to the "Application Audio Settings" page to check if the OBS application is checked under the Chat channel. (Note that no other apps should be checked under this channel)

 

 

3.  Arena settings during Voice chat in live streaming

First unlink the Chat channels in Headphone Mix Mode and Chat Mix Mode from Streaming Mix Mode.

● Secondly, in Streaming mix mode, mute the chat channel.

● Finally, switch the mix monitor to Headphone mix mode.

Configuration Steps

1.  Setting up audio devices

● Go to the Settings page in the lower left corner of the main screen.

● Select Stream Input (Maono Arena) for the INPUT DEVICE and Chat Output (Maono Arena) for the OUTPUT DEVICE in [Voice & Video].

2.  How to Avoid Stuttering & Play Sound Properly

In [Voice & Video], scroll down and turn off [Echo Cancellation], and select [Noise Suppression] as [None]. If the sound still stutters after this step, turn off the other options below [Noise Suppression] as well.

3.  Arena Audio Settings

Open Maono Arena, click on the icon on the top bar of the homepage and go to the "Application Audio Settings" page to check if the Discord application is checked under the Chat channel. (Note that no other apps should be checked under this channel)

4.  Arena settings during Voice chat in live streaming

First unlink the Chat channels in Headphone Mix Mode and Chat Mix Mode from Streaming Mix Mode.

● Secondly, in Streaming mix mode, mute the chat channel.

● Finally, switch the mix monitor to Headphone mix mode.

● Find the [Go Live] portal in the upper right corner of the webpage.

● Configure the microphone input to Stream Input (Maono Arena ) in [Webcam].

2.  Arena Audio Settings

Open Maono Arena, click on the icon on the top bar of the homepage and go to the "Application Audio Settings" page to check if the Youtube application is checked under the Chat channel. (Note that no other apps should be checked under this channel)

 

 

3.  Arena settings during Voice chat in live streaming

First unlink the Chat channels in Headphone Mix Mode and Chat Mix Mode from Streaming Mix Mode.

● Secondly, in Streaming mix mode, mute the chat channel.

● Finally, switch the mix monitor to Headphone mix mode.

2.  How to prevent sound lag

Turn off the noise suppression on the [Microphone] page, otherwise the live output will be distorted and the live streaming may lag.

3.  Arena Audio Settings

Open Maono Arena, click on the icon on the top bar of the homepage and go to the "Application Audio Settings" page to check if the Browser application is checked under the Chat channel. (Note that no other apps should be checked under this channel)

 

4.  Arena settings during Voice chat in live streaming

Introduction to Arena Usage features

 

1.  Connect G3

Open Arena, the computer through the USB-C cable to connect with the G3, if G3 successfully connects, the top of the home page will display a green dot, if connecting failed, a red dot will show.

 

 

 

2.  G3 Settings

2.1 G3 setting page

Click on "Options" on the homepage and select "G3 Settings" to enter the settings page. In the settings page, you can set the G3's audio input light color, mix mode light color and mute button light color according to your own habits. After the settings are completed, the encoder's function and light color will be synchronized to the G3 device, so that you can control the volume and sound effects of the live Streaming through the G3 device.

 

 

 

● Reset

After clicking the "Reset" button, a double check window will pop up, and the encoder customization and light color of the G3 device will be restored to the initial default values after the reset.

2.2 Setup mixer to OTG

        选择混音监听时,你可以看到未点亮的OTG按钮,点击按钮后OTG会点亮,当前混音就会被发送至后部的OTG输出口。直播、聊天和耳机三路混音,您可以选择其中一路到OTG输出。

 

2.3 AI降噪 和监听

      G3 上提供了物理的软按键,您可以选择开启或关闭AI降噪功能。AI降噪为满足游戏和直播用户使用,他进行了增强,可以有效的降低环境噪音、风扇声和您敲击键盘的声音。

 

3.  Connect the microphone

Open Arena, the computer through the USB-C cable to connect with the microphone, when the microphone connecting is successful, the lower right corner will pop up a prompt window, the microphone's channel will be displayed on the home page!

When the microphone is not connected, the Arena homepage will have a pop-up alert that will not go away unless the microphone is manually turned off or accessed.

 

 

4.  Setting up the microphone

After Arena recognizes the Maono microphone product, it will automatically generate a hardware virtual channel on the home page, in which you can conveniently adjust the volume, and click the microphone icon to adjust the microphone-related parameters.

 

5.  Monitor setting

a) Mixer Monitor

Arena offers three modes: Streaming, Headphone and Chat. The volume level of the three channels inside the mixing monitor controls the total volume of the output of the three modes. Which mixing monitor mode is selected by the monitor, the monitor device will listen to the sound of which mixing monitor mode, the virtual channels of the three mixing modes are independent of each other, you can adjust the volume of the same channel of each of the three modes.

b) Monitor Device

The monitor device represents which device can be used to monitor, and you can choose which mode to use which device as the output audio. Clicking Mute on the speaker will only mute the monitor sound, but the three channels will continue to be output unaffected.

QA:

● Why can't I use the USB microphone when it is plugged in?

Maono Arena is a audio mixing software that specially developed for Maono microphone and sound card products. Third-party USB microphone products can not be accessed to use for the time being, you need to access the G3 device in order to use the third-party microphone.

 

● How do I know if the application is set up successfully?

     If the application has been set up correctly, the corresponding virtual channel such as the Music virtual input will show the level of the current music input, the top of the channel will show the waveform of the mix, and the level bar of the channel will jump.

 

● How to adjust the volume of the appropriate virtual channel

Method 1: You can drag the slider to change the volume value size of the application input; clicking on the icon channel will display the gain adjustment page. When adjusting the volume you should first adjust the gain size, find a suitable gain and then manually adjust the slider to change the volume size.

 

Method 2: You can push the volume on the channel fader or rotary encoder on the G3 device.

6.  Virtual Channel

      Virtual Channel is a virtual audio driver developed for multiple audio inputs in Arena. Virtual Audio Channel can conveniently import audio output from other music software, chat software, online audio, game software, etc. at one time. Here we define 6 names of virtual channels for system, chat, game, music, browser and virtual, but you can set which software use Arena's virtual channels according to your own usage habits.

The output channels: System OutPut (Maono Arena), Game OutPut (Maono Arena), Music OutPut (Maono Arena) can be seen in the Output or Input options on your app's Audio Device Settings page.  

 

 

Expanding and contracting virtual channels

Click on the expansion icon to show all the channels, if you need to show less channels, click on the same icon again to do so.

 

 

Virtual Channel Management

a) Delete channel

     In Stream mode, for each virtual channel we provide the function to remove the virtual channel. When a channel is removed, the subsequent virtual channels will automatically move forward to replace the removed channel.

 

After removing the chat channel, the panel will be look like the following image:

 

b) Add channel

      In live mode, at the end of the virtual channel, we provide the function of adding a virtual channel, through the menu option can be conveniently removed from the channel re-introduced into the interface; shortcut menu highlights the pending options for the device not added to the main interface or virtual virtual channel.

 

 

c) Audio Source Management

      In the main interface menu we still provide a more convenient window to change the order, remove, and add new virtual channels, there are two ways to open the audio management window.

There are two ways to open the source management window.

Method 1: Click on "Options" in the top bar to bring up the menu, select "Source Management" and the source management window will open.

 

 

Method 2: Click on the small tray on the taskbar in the lower right corner of your desktop and right-click on the Arena software.

 

 

 

 

 

● Changing the virtual channel order

The Audio Management page allows you to move the position of each virtual channel by dragging.

● Removing Virtual Channels

Hovering over the device's icon in the "Audio Source on the interface" section will display the removed icon, and clicking on it will remove the virtual channel from the Arena home page display as well.

 

 

Removed virtual channels will automatically be moved into the virtual source column.

 

If the virtual channel is a microphone, it will be automatically moved to the microphone bar, while the removed virtual channel can be added to the home page again by clicking on the Icon on the device.

 

After clicking "Finish", the order and number of virtual channels in the main interface will be changed. By clicking "Reset" button, all previous operations on virtual channels will be restored to the order when the software was installed by default. Click "Cancel", then this operation will not take effect.

 

 

Channel muting

    In all three modes, we can mute each virtual channel separately. When the mouse is moved into the channel, two buttons will be hovered in live mode, namely "Remove Channel" and "Mute", while the headset and chat mode will only hover the "Mute" button.

 

 

a) Removing channels from the home application channel

     If the Remove Channel button is clicked, the channel will be removed and the input will no longer be displayed on the application channel and will no longer participate in the mix.

b) Mute on the home application channel

If the Mute button is clicked, the channel is grayed out and does not participate in the mix; alternatively, the virtual channel can be muted by dragging the channel's volume bar to zero.

c) Mute under Link mode

In Stream mode, if the virtual channels in the other two modes are enabled to be linked, then when you click the mute button for a channel in live mode, then the virtual channels in headset and chat will also be muted together. However, if you mute a channel in headset and chat mode, the corresponding channel in live mode will not be muted together.

d) Mute without Link mode

When linkage is turned off, that virtual channel is muted in live mode, and that channel is not muted together in headset mode or chat mode. Linkage is on by default, which makes it easy for you to access the adjustments for each input. The same principle of applying the linkage icon to scenarios applies to the Quick Route Mute Mute panel as well!

 

e) Mute on G3 devices

● Click the mute button on the G3 device.

● Push the channel's faders to the bottom until the source input lamp color is not displayed.

● Encoder 1 or Encoder 2 can also mute the channel.

Encoder 1 or Encoder 2 needs to be set up in advance in the G3-Setup page of the Arena software in order to be realized on the G3 device.

 

 

 

f) Mute in Monitor channel

Click on the Mix Monitor Channel option in the lower left corner of the homepage, and then click on the icons of the "Stream", "HeadPhone" and "Chat" channels to mute the mix monitor channel. The mute effect is shown in the figure; when muted, the 6 virtual channels and microphone of the mixing monitor channel will not jump even if they are still outputting.

 

 

g) Fast Mute Router

      When you are in the process of gaming or live Streaming, in order to easily access or mute a certain input, here we provide a quick mute routing panel, the panel's operation and the operation of your mute on the channel is completely synchronized, here just need to click on the virtual channel that you need to.

 

 

7.  Application audio configuration

a)Application audio configuration Window

      Click button on the top left home page to bring up the "Application Audio configuration" window. If the software follows the Microsoft Audio Development Specification, then you can check the name of the software in the corresponding virtual channel in the "Application Audio Settings" window to complete the setup.

If Microsoft Edge is checked under the Browser Virtual Channel, the sound played by Microsoft Edge will flow into the Browser Virtual Channel.

 

 

If you're used to listening to music on music websites, it's easy to apply Music settings to browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Chrome by simply checking the box. If you're used to Spotify, you can access it here as well. However, there are some music apps that have their own set of audio output settings and do not follow the Microsoft audio development specification, in which case you can select Music OutPut (Maono Arena) as the input audio channel in the audio settings of your music app.

 

b)Setting the audio output within the music software

  Take Tidal as an example, if the “Application Audio Settings” setting is unsuccessful, there will be prompts on how to solve the problem, you can click on “the solution” or click on “Audio Manual Settings” to jump to the “How to set up audio output in music software” help page.

 

 

The virtual channel in the main interface will show the name of the application that has been set up.

 

8.  Three mixing modes for Stream, HeadPhone and Chat

The Arena has three mixing modes: Live, Headset and Chat, which correspond to Stream Input (Maono Arena) and Chat Input (Maono Arena) in the microphone options of the live streaming software or chat software, respectively. The "Stream" mode can be used for live streaming platforms, the "Chat" mode can be used for chat software, and the "HeadPhone" mode can be used for personal monitoring. We don't limit the use of a mode to a specific software, for example, the "Chat" mode can also be used for live streaming, "Chat" is just a code word.

 

How to use these three modes during live streaming

● How do streamers set in Arena to make game teammates and the audience hear different sounds?

For example: The audience can only hear the streamer's voice and the game and other background sound effects; the conversation between the streamer and his teammates is limited to each other, to ensure that teammates' voices will not be streamed out, and at the same time, streamer can listen to the music they like, and the music will not be heard by his teammates or streamed out!

 

Platform Setup

For live platforms, select Stream Input (Maono Arena) for the Microphone and Chat Output (Maono Arena) for the Speakers and check the corresponding channel in the "Application Audio Configuration"of Arena.

For the gaming platform, select Chat Intput (Maono Arena) for the Microphone and Browser Output (Maono Arena) for the Speakers, and check the corresponding channel in the "Application Audio Configuration" of Arena.

Regardless of which virtual channel the live platform is on, this virtual channel should not have any other apps checked, otherwise it will cause conflicts.

 

Arena Setup:

1.  In order to keep your teammates' voices out of the live streaming, you need to mute the Browser channel (which is the channel where the game's voices come in) in the "Live" mode.

 

 

2.  In order to make sure that your gaming teammates don't hear the live stream, but only your voice, mute all channels other than the microphone and mute the sound panel in the "Chat" mode.

 

3.  Switch the monitor to "Headphone" mode, you can adjust the volume of any channel to enjoy your own personal world!

 

9.  Sound Pad

a) Sound Effect Playback

      We have provided several featured sound effects to play during the live streaming, such as applause, opening, cheering, and so on. You can click on the sound effects directly in the Sound Pad of Arena or in the sound effects panel of the G3 device, and the Sound Pad will show the progress of the current sound effect's playback.

b) Playback method

  For the playback of special effect sounds we offer three playback methods: play once, hold to play, and toggle.

Play Once: Click to play once until the playback is finished; or stop by clicking another special effect sound playback.

Toggle: Click to play, clicking during playback will pause playback, you can click again to continue playback or restart playback.

Press and hold to play: Press and hold to play, release to stop; after release, press and hold again to play, you can set to continue playing or restart playing.

After setting the playback mode, you can directly see the playback mode of the sound effect when you move the mouse to the sound effect in the home page.

c) Importing sound effects

You can import some interesting special effect sounds or background music and trigger them when you interact with your teammates to make your gameplay experience more exciting and fun!

● How to access the sound editing page

    There are two ways to enter the sound editing page, one is when the sound effect volume bar is not yet closed, you need to right-click the mouse; the other is to click on the "sound effect" after the volume bar is closed, the mouse can be clicked!

Ordinary users import sound effects we support click to upload to the file box, such as the existing sound effects will prompt you to replace, you can also customize the color and name of the sound effects, the color of the sound effects will be synchronized with the display to the G3 device!

d) Exporting sound effects

In the sound editing page you can click on the export icon in the upper right corner to export sound effects, which makes it easy to extract the sound effects.

e) Delete sound effects

In the sound editing page, you can click the "Delete" icon in the upper right corner to delete the sound effect, after deleting the sound effect, the sound effect in the home page will be displayed blank, the sound effect behind will not be moved forward automatically, and the G3 device will also display synchronously.

f) sound effects page

    When not connected to the G3, the maximum number of sound effects per page is 8, and the total number of pages supporting sound effects is 9; when connected to the G3, the maximum number of sound effects per page is 6, and when there are too many sound effects, they can be imported into a new page, and the total number of pages supporting sound effects is 12, and the total number of pages supporting sound effects can be customized to 72.

 

10.  Shortcut Functions

We support shortcut keys for sound effects, mute of the mix output channel and overall output volume adjustment of the mix output channel.

a) Shortcuts page

Open the Arena homepage, click "Options", select "Shortcut" to enter the settings page, and set the shortcut keys for triggering and turning pages of SoundPad effects, the shortcut key for muting the mix output channels, and the overall volume shortcut key for each mix monitor channel. output volume shortcuts for each mixed monitor channel.

Remember to click the "Save" button after the above settings are completed, otherwise the settings will not take effect!

b) Modify shortcut keys

You need to click the mouse to show the edit box and then make the changes.

c) Global Shortcuts

You can set global shortcuts freely, check the "Global" button can also enable you to use shortcuts when Arena is in the background, if you don't check it, you can only use shortcuts when Arena is on the front desk.

d) Reset button

After clicking the "Reset" button, all current shortcuts will be restored to their default values.

 

11.  Firmware Upgrade

Firmware upgrades are supported for microphone and G3 upgrades, as long as the upgraded version is available, a yellow dot will appear in the upper right corner of the "Options" section of the Arena homepage.

Firmware Upgrade Page

Open Arena homepage, click "Options", select "Firmware Upgrade" to bring up the upgrade pop-up window, which will display the information of the devices that need to be upgraded, and the version number shown in the pop-up window is the current version number of the firmware. When there are more than one device need to be upgraded, you can choose to upgrade all of them, it will be upgraded in order.

If it is already the latest version, the pop-up window will show "All devices have been upgraded to the latest firmware".

 

12.  Quit Setup

Method one: you can click on the "Options" pop-up window and click on "Exit Settings", you can set each time you exit the software is to directly close the program or minimize the program!

Method 2: Click on the taskbar at the bottom right corner of the desktop, right-click Arena software, a small pop-up window will appear, click on "Quit Settings" to set up.

 

13.  Version information

To check the version of the software or enter the official website, you can click "Options" - "About" pop-up version information pop-up window. You can see the current version of the software, if you click on the version number will jump to the final agreement page, where you can also view information about other products. You can also view other product information on this page.

 

14.  Autostart on boot

Click on the taskbar in the lower-right corner of the desktop, right-click on the Arena software, a small pop-up window will appear, turn on the "Autostart on boot" switch.
