A: Yes, DM40 LIVE GEN2 supports concurrent wireless and wired operation.
6. How to enable noise cancellation and switch noise cancellation levels?
A: Noise cancellation is enabled at the Slight level by factory default. Tap the noise cancellation button on the top to toggle between preset and custom noiseâcanceling modes. The switching sequence is: Slight – Moderate – Aggressive – Custom – Off. You may select a proper noise cancellation level based on ambient noise. Furthermore, more detailed configurations can be made via MaonoLink.
7. How to activate mute function?
A: 1. Short press the mute button on the top of the microphone to toggle mute on/off;

A: Press and hold the knob for 3 seconds to switch to headphone volume adjustment mode. The indicator light below the knob will turn blue.
12. How to perform a microphone factory reset?
A: A reset switch is built inside the 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom of the microphone. Insert a toothpick to press the internal reset button to complete the reset.
13. How to pair the microphone with live streaming devices via Bluetooth?
A: On the Maono Link homepage, toggle on the Bluetooth switch under More Features. Next, activate Bluetooth on your mobile phone or computer, search for “Maono DM40 Live”, tap the device name, accept the pairing popâup request, and connection will complete. Maono Link will display the connected device upon successful pairing.
Note: Bluetooth only transmits backing track audio and cannot output live vocal signals. After Bluetooth pairing, the blue light under the microphone knob will flash. The microphone will auto power off after 5 minutes if no wired or wireless connection is established with the host device.
14. How to clear Bluetooth pairing records?
Press and hold the noise reduction button for 2 seconds to erase Bluetooth pairing data and initialize the unit for new Bluetooth connection.
15. How to disconnect Bluetooth backing trackïŒ
1ăOn the Maono Link home page, turn off the Bluetooth switch or tap Disconnect.
2ăYou may also turn off the Bluetooth switch directly on your phone.
16. How to activate the ducking function?
A: On the MaonoLink homepage, switch to the Scenes tab. Ducking can be enabled by turning it on under Chat, Game and Recording scenes. This feature is unavailable in the Sing scene.
17. What is the function of ducking?
Ducking automatically balances the volume between vocals and Bluetooth backing tracks to keep voice audio prominent.
The backing track volume attenuates automatically when you speak and restores to original volume once you stop talking, eliminating manual volume adjustment.
18. How to adjust microphone reverberation?
A: On the Maono Link homepage, switch to the Scenes tab and select Sing Mode below. Tick the Reverberation option to freely adjust the reverberation parameter value. Custom reverb presets are also available for selection.
Note: The reverberation function is only accessible under Sing Mode and cannot be activated in other scene modes.
19. How to enable sing vocal effects?
A: On the Maono Link homepage, switch to the Scene tab and select Sing Mode at the bottom.
Three sing vocal effects are available for selection: Original ,Instrumental , and Sing Along.
Note: Sing vocal effects are exclusive to Sing and cannot be accessed in other scene modes.
20. How to adjust microphone EQ parameters?
AïŒOn the MaonoLink homepage, switch to the Scenes tab. Go to the Equalizer panel and click New to create a custom EQ. The EQ profiles support import and export. However, factory preset EQs cannot be exported.
21. Loopback Switch Function Description
A: Applicable scenario: Single-device live streaming
- Loopback ON: You can hear the backing track through headphones, but the backing track will not be captured in the live stream or recording. Turn this on for multi-user mic linking or PK sessions to stop echo on the other participant’s side.
- Loopback OFF: You can hear the backing track through headphones, and the backing track will be recorded along with your voice. Use this mode for single-device vocal recording or live streams that require backing music.
Note: Backing tracks played via dual devices or Bluetooth are not affected by the Loopback switch.
Usage Scenarios
- Recording cover songs on a single device → Turn off the Loopback switch
- Single-device live streaming that needs both voice and device backing track → Turn off the Loopback switch
- iOS devices and some Android phones have system restrictions. They cannot output voice and backing track at the same time on one phone. â Verification method: Play a backing track on the device. If the phone’s built-in recorder can record the backing track simultaneously, your phone is not restricted.
- If echo happens during live-stream mic linking, enable the Loopback switch first; â ïž Note: Enabling it will affect backing track recording for single-device live streaming. Backing tracks from dual devices and Bluetooth are unaffected.
22. How to turn on RGB lighting?
A: 1. Short press the power button while the microphone is powered on to activate RGB lighting;
2. Go to the Light tab on Maono Link homepage and enable the RGB Lighting toggle.
23. How to switch RGB lighting effects?
A: On the Maono Link homepage, enter the Light tab after enabling RGB lighting.
Available effects include Fixed, Breathing, Loop and Beat Groove which can be switched with one click.
24. How to select RGB light colors?

Tap different color icons under Color Selection to switch lighting hues.

Compressor: Stabilizes audio signal volume to eliminate inconsistent loudness. Recommended setting: -18dB ~ -12dB.
Limiter: Prevents audio clipping and signal overload. Recommended setting: -6dB ~ -3dB.
42. Why does the microphone power off automatically?
If wireless pairing fails and no wired connection is active, the microphone’s blue indicator will flash continuously.
The unit will shut down automatically after approximately 5 minutes. Reconnect and reâpair for normal use.
43. Which operating systems support the PC version of Maono Link?

Microphone gain controls vocal output loudness. The optimal speaking distance is two fist widths from the microphone, with gain set around 10 for this distance. Increase gain moderately if speaking further away.
Headphone volume controls monitoring loudness and can be adjusted freely according to personal listening comfort.
49. How to store the microphone during longâterm idle periods?
DM40 LIVE GEN2 contains a builtâin lithium battery.
For longâterm storage, place the unit in a cool, dry and moistureâproof environment.
Maintain an appropriate battery charge level to mitigate capacity degradation over prolonged storage, and regular use/maintenance is recommended.
50. How to clean dust and debris on the microphone?
Power off the microphone first. Gently brush surface dust with a dry soft brush.
Wipe the metal mesh grille with a halfâdry cotton swab dipped in anhydrous ethanol. Wait for alcohol to fully evaporate before powering on to avoid liquid infiltration into internal components.
Store the microphone in the dustâproof pouch when unused for extended periods to prevent dust accumulation and moisture damage.

In Windows 11 Sound settings, guide users to disable Audio Enhancements. When recording into a DAW via USB, set the track to stereo to prevent the reverb from switching to mono.
