DAW internal routing is an advanced workflow with a steep learning curve and relatively modest practical returns. If you’re after simplicity and speed, we strongly suggest using the routing tools built right into ProStudio 2 – they’re straightforward and intuitive. If you’ve tried several times and still feel lost, please go with ProStudio 2 for your setup; that’s our recommended path.
Setup Guide

Open your DAW, create a stereo track, and enable input monitoring on that track.

Go to your audio settings/plugin configuration panel, click on an empty area, and select Audio I/O Configuration (in some DAWs this is called Bus Configuration).

Add an input channel to bring in your backing track. For example, set Playback 1/2 as the default playback device in Google Chrome – audio from the browser will then be routed into your DAW as a backing track.

Next, create two virtual output channels. Make sure they match the configuration shown below – especially the OTG section, where you must select the exact same device.

Critical step: ensure both virtual outputs have the “Enable” (or “Use”) box checked. This is mandatory.

Click OK to save, then turn on the monitor switch. At this point, any audio you play will be sent out to your connected smartphone.
