USB Microphone Randomly Disconnecting and Reconnecting on Windows

Issue Description

The USB microphone intermittently disconnects after being connected to the computer.

Primary/Basic Solutions

1. Avoid USB Hubs/Docks: Please connect the device directly to the computer host (e.g., the motherboard ports on a desktop) and try using different USB ports for testing.

2. Check Power Supply: Insufficient USB port power, potentially due to too many connected external devices. Please unplug all other USB peripherals except for your microphone and sound card, then reconnect them for testing.

3. Use Stable Power Ports: Connect to a USB 3.0 or higher port on the computer motherboard, as maintaining a stable and sufficient power output is crucial.

4. Replace the Data Cable: Please replace the current data cable with a new one to test for connection stability. If the connection becomes stable, the original cable is faulty.

5. Disable Power Management for USB Devices: Windows default power saving settings can cause intermittent USB failures due to insufficient power. Please follow these steps and restart your computer:

   • Open "Device Manager."

   • Expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers."

   • Double-click on each "USB Root Hub" and open the "Properties" dialog.

   • Switch to the "Power Management" tab.

   • Uncheck the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

   • Click "OK." Repeat for all "USB Root Hubs," then restart your computer.

6. Disable USB Selective Suspend Setting: This feature saves battery power but can sometimes cause issues with external device recognition. Disable it to troubleshoot:

   • Go to "Control Panel" --> "Power Options" (View by large icons).

   • Click "Change plan settings" next to your preferred plan.

   • Select "Change advanced power settings."

   • Expand "USB settings" --> "USB selective suspend setting."

   • Select "Disabled."

Check Hardware Overclocking and BIOS Settings: Modifying memory frequency (overclocking) can lead to system instability, causing USB connection issues. It is recommended to enter the BIOS and restore the factory default settings (Load Default Settings) to rule out problems caused by overclocking or unusual configurations.
