2. Function & Parameter Explanations

Q6. What's the Role of Audio Parameters (Sample Rate/Bit Depth)

PD300X supports 24bit/48kHz or 24bit/192kHz audio output, meeting studio-quality standards to ensure recording clarity and detailed performance.

Q7. What's the Role of PD300X's 192kHz

The combination of 192kHz/24bit audio output delivers extremely high sound quality and precision, making audio more realistic and detailed during production, recording, and playback.
This high-quality output is particularly suitable for high-end audio production and scenarios requiring perfect sound quality, such as music recording, broadcasting, and post-production.

Q8. Differences Between PD300X USB Mode and XLR Mode

  • USB Mode: Plug-and-play, no additional equipment required. Suitable for connecting to computers, tablets, smartphones for live streaming, voice chat, and basic recording. Supports software-controlled volume and monitoring, with all microphone functions available.
  • XLR Mode: Requires an external audio interface or mixer. Provides more stable audio signal transmission, ideal for professional studios and stage performances with superior sound quality. It is normal for the microphone's indicator light to turn off and buttons to become inactive in this mode.

3. Software & Device Compatibility

Q9. How to Use Custom EQ Function

Open the Maono Link software and find "Equalizer" in the "Scenes" section.
The software offers preset modes (e.g., Original Sound, Podcast, Gaming, Recording) for direct use.
Click "Add" to manually adjust the 10-band equalizer (frequency range: 20Hz-20kHz) to enhance bass, reduce noise, etc., as needed.Click "Close and Save" after adjustment to create a custom preset. You can also export and import different effects. For detailed steps: PD300X Pro Microphone Software Functions

Q10. Is 48V Phantom Power Required?

No. PD300X is a dynamic microphone that does not require external 48V phantom power. It can be used directly by connecting to devices.

Q11. How to Adjust Noise Reduction Level/Use AI Noise Reduction? AI Noise Reduction Not Working?

Q: How to adjust the noise reduction level?
A: Three recommended noise reduction levels:
  • For slight ambient noise: Adjust between -60dB ~ -50dB (Light Noise Reduction)
  • For moderate ambient noise: Adjust between -45dB ~ -35dB (Medium Noise Reduction)
  • For heavy ambient noise: Adjust between -35dB ~ -28dB (Heavy Noise Reduction)
If the effect is still unsatisfactory after adjusting to Heavy Noise Reduction, check for noise sources in the environment and shield them. For example, fans or other people's voices. Maintaining a better acoustic environment is the most important part. If the noise reduction effect for mouse and keyboard sounds is poor or noise sources cannot be removed, refer to the solutions in the link below: How to Use AI Noise Reduction-Maono Help Center

Before using AI noise reduction, select "Maono AI Microphone" as the audio input device in the computer's audio settings.
Open the Maono Link software, find the "AI Settings" module in the upper right corner, and enable "AI Noise Reduction" and "Hear-Self".
If the function still doesn't work after correct settings, close and restart the software.

Q12. Which Operating Systems Are Supported by the Desktop Maono Link Software?

  • Windows: Windows 10 (version 1809 or later), Windows 11 (32/64-bit)
  • Mac: macOS 13.5 or later

Q13. What's the Function of Adjusting Monitor Mix Ratio via Maono Link?

Adjusting the monitor mix ratio helps you balance the volume of microphone and computer audio in the headphones according to personal preferences. By clicking the microphone or computer icon, you can quickly mute one of the sound sources.
When the slider is in the middle, the microphone and computer audio in the headphones will be balanced (50% computer audio and 50% microphone audio).
Moving the slider to either side will gradually reduce the sound from the other side. This allows you to adjust to the most suitable volume mix during work or entertainment.
For example: If you don't want to hear your own voice while gaming, move the slider to the computer side. This way, only the computer audio will play through the headphones, and your own voice will be muted.

4. Mode Differences & Troubleshooting

Q14. Is It Normal That Knobs and Lights Don't Respond in XLR Mode?

Yes. XLR mode is designed to work with professional external equipment (e.g., mixers, audio interfaces). In this mode, the microphone's volume adjustment and light display are controlled by the external device (audio interface), so the built-in knobs and lights are disabled. In USB mode, the knobs can adjust volume/monitoring, and the lights display the working status normally.

Q15. How to Resolve Microphone Noise or Interference?

  • Current noise ("hissing sound"): Check if the microphone is too close to strong electromagnetic devices (e.g., routers, induction cookers). Maintain a distance of at least 1 meter. Replace the USB data cable or port to eliminate line interference.
  • Ambient noise ("buzzing sound"): Enable the noise reduction function on the microphone or in the software. Use a windscreen to reduce airflow noise. Use in a quiet environment to avoid background noise interference.

5. Power Supply Issues

Q16. Microphone Disconnects Frequently When Connected via USB?

Avoid using excessively long USB extension cables (recommended length: no more than 3 meters) as they may cause voltage loss.
For laptop users, prioritize USB ports while the laptop is connected to a charger to avoid power limitations during battery operation.
Use a USB hub with independent power supply to enhance power stability.

6. Compatibility Issues

Q17. Unable to Recognize in Professional Software (e.g., Adobe Audition/Logic Pro) After Connecting to Computer?

Verify that the Windows/Mac system version meets the requirements (Windows 10 1803/macOS 10.13 or later). Older versions may have driver compatibility issues.
Check if PD300X is recognized in the system's audio settings. If not, re-plug the microphone and restart the software. Select PD300X as the audio input device in the software's audio settings.
Update the microphone's firmware to the latest version via Maono Link. Download link: Maono App Download

Q18. Why Can't Maono Link for PD300X Be Used on Windows 7?

PD300X adopts the new architecture of Maono Link 3.0 software framework to provide a better user experience.
This software only supports Windows 10 and above versions.
Maono Link 2.0 version (applicable to products such as PD200X and PD100X) will not be affected.

7. Function Operation & Software Usage Issues

Q19. Sound Distortion Due to Excessive Microphone Gain?

Reduce the "Microphone gain" slider in the Maono Link software (recommended initial value: 50-65).
For XLR mode, adjust the gain via the external mixer's knob to avoid input signal overload.
Maintain an appropriate distance between the microphone and sound source (no closer than about one fist, recommended: 10-20cm). Too close may cause clipping distortion.

Q20. Maono Link Software Fails to Download/Open or Crashes Frequently?

Check if the computer has the correct system version (Windows & Mac).
When uninstalling the software, use the Uninstall program in the installation directory for a complete removal. Reinstall the latest version after uninstallation.
It is recommended to use the default installation path (C drive).

8. Device Maintenance Issues

Q21. How to Clean Dust or Debris on the Microphone Capsule?

Turn off the microphone power. Use a dry, soft brush to gently remove dust from the capsule surface.
Wipe the metal mesh with a cotton swab dipped in a small amount of anhydrous alcohol (semi-dry state). Use the microphone only after the alcohol has evaporated to prevent liquid from seeping inside.
Store the microphone in a dustproof bag when not in use for a long time to avoid moisture or dust accumulation.
