Why can't my AME2 boot up smoothly?

1. Please check if the AME2 has power. You can determine if the AME2 has power by the number of power indicator lights lit in the upper right corner of the AME2 panel. If only one green power indicator light is lit, it means the AME2 battery is low. Please connect the power cord and charge the AME2 for 3-5 hours before trying to turn it on.
2. Please note that you need to press and hold the AME2 power button for more than three seconds to turn it on.

Why is there no sound from the music output?

1. Please check if the external audio source is connected to the AME2's "AUX-IN" jack.
2. Please check if the "AUX" volume control knob on the left side is turned on.
3. Please check the volume of the accompaniment device.
4. Please turn on the "LOOP BACK" button.

Why is there no sound from the headphone monitor?

1. Please check if the headphone cable is correctly plugged into the jack. The headphone cable should be plugged into either of the two 3.5mm headphone jacks on the bottom of the AME2.
2. Please check if the "Monitor" volume knob on the AME2 is turned up high enough. Turning the knob to the right gradually increases the volume.
3. Please check if the AME2's monitor function has been accidentally turned off. Briefly press the indicator light button next to the power button to turn the AME2's monitor function on/off.
4. Please check if the microphone is correctly connected to the AME2's microphone jack. An XLR microphone should be connected to the AME2's MIC1 jack, and a 3.5mm microphone should be connected to the AME2's MIC2 jack.
5. Please note that if you are using an XLR condenser microphone on the AME2, please turn on the "48V" button.
6. Please check if the "MIC" volume slider on the left side is sliding upwards. Pushing it upwards slowly increases the microphone volume.
7. Please check if the "Gain" switch on the back of the AME2 is set to the correct position. If you are using a condenser microphone on the MIC1, please set the "Gain" switch to the "40dB" condenser microphone position. If you are using a dynamic microphone on the MIC1, please set it to the "50dB" or "60dB" dynamic microphone position according to the sensitivity of your dynamic microphone.

Why is there no sound from the microphone?

1. Please check that your microphone is correctly connected to the AME2's microphone jack. XLR microphones should be connected to the MIC1 jack on the AME2, and 3.5mm microphones should be connected to the MIC2 jack.

If you are using a dynamic microphone on the MIC1, please set it to the "50dB" or "60dB" dynamic microphone position according to the sensitivity of your dynamic microphone.
5. Please note that the AME2 is only compatible with XLR and 3.5mm microphones, and is not compatible with USB microphones. Please consult your microphone dealer to confirm that your microphone is compatible with this podcast console, or contact us for a recommended microphone model.

Why is there no sound during live streaming/podcast recording?

1. Please check if the "OUTPUT" knob on the podcast console is turned on, and slowly increase the output volume by rotating the "OUTPUT" knob clockwise.
2. Please check if the podcast console "MAONO AME2" is set as the "default input" and "default output" device for both the live/podcast software and the recording device. If you are recording using a computer, you can check the sound settings in your computer's "Sound Settings"; for live/podcast software, please check the software's sound settings.
3. If the above settings are correct, please try changing the cable connecting the live/podcast device to check if the problem is caused by a cable fault.
4. Please note that if you are using an iPhone 14 or earlier model with a Lightning connector, do not directly connect the AME2 using a USB-C to Lightning cable, as this connection method is not available. Please use the USB cable/3.5mm audio cable and adapter included with the AME2 for connection.

Why does my sound have an echo/obvious reverb effect? How do I remove it?

1. Please turn the "REVERB PRESTES" button on your AME2 to yellow. After turning it yellow, you will hear "Original" in the headphones.
2. Please turn the "REVERB" knob on your AME2 to the left until it is completely off.

What is the purpose of “SIDE CHAIN”?

“SIDE CHAIN” is primarily used when playing background music during recording. When “SIDE CHAIN” is enabled, if you speak into the microphone, the AME2 will automatically reduce the background music volume to highlight your voice. If you stop speaking into the microphone, the background music volume will return to normal.

What is the function of "MUSIC ONLY"?

When the "MUSIC ONLY" button is turned on, vocals in the accompaniment will be removed, leaving only the music, making it convenient for users to sing karaoke.

Why is the "SIDE CHAIN" function on my AME2 unavailable?

Please note that the "SIDE CHAIN" function is only available during live streaming/podcasting, not during voice calls.

Why is there so much noise in my recordings?

1. Our environments are filled with various kinds of noise. As a precision device, it's normal for a microphone to pick up background noise. Please try to record in a relatively quiet environment.
2. To reduce noise, you can turn on the "DENOISE" button on your AME2. The AME2's "DENOISE" has two levels. If there is only slight noise reduction around you, turn on level one; if there are many noise sources around you, you can turn on level two.
3. Please note that the AME2's noise reduction function cannot completely isolate all noise, such as a child screaming nearby or the sound of typing on a keyboard nearby. Recording in a quiet environment is a better choice.

How to connect an iPhone to the AME2 for recording?

The specific connection method depends on your iPhone model.

1. If you are using an iPhone 14 or earlier model, meaning your iPhone has a Lightning port, you can use the following two connection methods:
①. You can use the 3.5mm audio cable included with the AME2 along with a 3.5mm to Lightning adapter to connect your iPhone to either of the two "LIVE OUTPUT" jacks on the AME2;
②. You can use the USB cable included with the AME2 along with a USB-C/A to Lightning adapter to connect your iPhone to the USB-C port on the AME2.
Please note that only these two connection methods are available for iPhone 14 and earlier models, and we recommend using an adapter sold by the Apple Store as it offers better compatibility. Direct connection via a USB-C to Lightning cable will not work. Using adapters from other brands may result in incompatibility issues or unstable operation.

2. If you are using an iPhone 15 or later, meaning your iPhone has a Type-C port, you can directly connect your iPhone to the AME2's USB-C port using its original cable.

(Please note that the AME2's USB port refers to the one labeled "USB-C," not the one labeled "DC-5V." The DC-5V port is for charging the AME2.)

What microphones is the AME2 compatible with?

The AME2 is only compatible with XLR and 3.5mm microphones. It is not compatible with USB microphones.
Please note that you cannot connect a USB microphone to the AME2 by changing the microphone cable. If you are unsure whether your microphone is compatible with the AME2, please contact MAONO technical support.

Can I connect my guitar to the AME2?

2. After connecting, please check your computer's sound settings. Both input and output should be set to "MAONO AME2" (right-click the speaker icon on the right side of the desktop to open sound settings).
3. When recording backing tracks from your computer, remember to enable the "loopback" function on the AME2.

How do I adjust the volume of custom sound effects?

You can adjust the volume of custom sound effects by adjusting the "PAD VOL" knob. Turning it left decreases the volume of custom sound effects, and turning it right increases the volume.

I've connected my recording phone/computer to the AME2 via Bluetooth, but why is there no sound?

Because the AME2's Bluetooth is unidirectional, it can only be used to connect external devices to send audio to the AME2, but it cannot transmit audio from the AME2 to external devices via Bluetooth.

Why can I hear my own voice while wearing headphones, but the audience can't hear me?

1. First, please check if the "OUTPUT" knob on the AME2 is turned on;
2. Please check if your live streaming device is connected to the AME2 correctly. If your live streaming device is a computer, please connect the AME2 directly to the computer using a USB cable; do not use any adapters or docking stations. If your live streaming device is a Type-C Android phone or an iPhone 15 or later, please connect the AME2 directly to the Android phone using a USB cable. If your live streaming device is a Lightning iPhone, please connect the iPhone to the "LIVE OUTPUT" port on the AME2 using a 3.5mm audio cable with an Apple-sold 3.5mm to Lightning adapter.
3. If the connection is correct, please check the sound settings of your live streaming equipment and platform. You need to set AME2 as the default input device on both your live streaming equipment and platform.

I don't want to hear myself speaking through my headphones. How do I turn off the AME2's monitoring function?

You can turn the AME2's monitoring function on/off by briefly pressing the "Light" button on the back of the AME2 (it's next to the power button).
Please note that this requires your AME2 to be an upgraded version.

Why does the volume sound normal through the headphones, but the audience says it's too low?

Please check if the "OUTPUT" knob on your AME2 is turned up. Please turn it up.

Why can't I use the AME2 with my MAONO software?

Sorry, the AME2 is currently incompatible with any MAONO software.

Is the AME2 compatible with Xbox?

Sorry, the AME2 is not compatible with Xbox.

Does the AME2 support separate tracks?

Sorry, the AME2 does not support separate tracks. The AME2 is an integrated audio interface that mixes all audio inputs to the AME2 together for output.

Why does connecting to a power source cause my computer to stop recognizing the AME2? How can I fix this?

Connecting to a power source increases the AME2's current, causing the computer to recognize it as an abnormal current device. Due to some computer protection mechanisms, it will disconnect the AME2 from the computer. To resolve this issue, you can add a docking station between the AME2 and your computer to prevent the computer from mistakenly recognizing the AME2 as an abnormal current device.
