1.How to connect the PD500W to a computer?

      It supports two connection methods: wireless and wired.

  1. Wireless Connection: Plug the wireless receiver into your computer's USB port. Power on the microphone. A solid green mute indicator light means pairing is successful.

  2. Wired Connection: Use a USB-C cable to connect the Type-C port on the microphone to the USB port of your computer. The device will connect automatically, and no power-on operation is required.

 

2. How to complete wireless pairing for PD500W Receiver

Press and hold the microphone power button for 3 seconds to power on. After plugging the receiver into your device, the microphone will pair with the receiver automatically. The microphone mute indicator will change from flashing blue to solid green when pairing succeeds, and the corresponding indicator on the receiver will also stop flashing and stay lit. For dual-microphone connection (one wireless receiver paired with two microphones), both indicators on the receiver will remain steadily lit.
 
Manual Pairing
 
If the microphone fails to connect to the receiver after powering on, or the connection is interrupted due to anomalies, follow the steps below for manual pairing:
  1. Power off the microphone first, then press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to enter quick pairing mode. The microphone mute indicator will flash blue rapidly.
  2. Reinsert the receiver into your device. Pairing is complete when the receiver indicator stays steady and the microphone mute indicator turns green.

 

3.What are the functions of the knob on the microphone?

       Short press the knob to switch adjustment modes.

  •  When the mute indicator light is white: Gain adjustment mode. Turn the knob clockwise to increase microphone gain, and counterclockwise to decrease it.
  • When the mute indicator light is blue: Headphone volume adjustment mode. Turn the knob clockwise to raise headphone volume, and counterclockwise to lower it.

 

4.How to enable noise cancellation?

①Enable via Maono Link

  • Open Maono Link
     
    Open the software and enter the device interface.Four levels are available: Slight, Moderate, Aggressive and Custom.
    They correspond to indicator lights on the side of the microphone: white, light green, green and orange.
     
  • Enable via Maono Link
     
    Tap the noise cancellation level options shown in the interface.

② On the microphone
 
Short press the noise cancellation button to cycle through modes: Slight → Moderate → Aggressive → Custom.
 
③ On the receiver
 
Short press the noise cancellation button on the receiver to cycle through modes: Slight → Moderate → Aggressive → Custom.
 

5. How many microphones can one receiver connect to at most?

Two. It supports up to one-to-two mode.
 
 

6. How to enable Internal Recording?

1. On the microphone
 
Short press the Internal Recording button to start Internal Recording; the red indicator light on the side will turn on. Long press for 3 seconds again to stop recording.
 
2. Via Maono Link software
 
Click the Internal Recording button to enable/disable Internal Recording.

7. How to export the recorded audio files?

After disabling internal recording, connect the microphone to your phone or computer with a USB-C cable. Press and hold the Internal Recording button for 5 seconds. When the recording indicator lights up orange, you can transfer the files to your device（ It currently supports Windows, iOS and Android systems）.
 

For Windows PC

  • Connect the microphone to your computer using a USB A&C to USB-C cable.

  • Press and hold the internal recording button on the microphone for 5 seconds. Make sure internal recording is turned off before enabling USB drive mode. The microphone mute indicator will turn orange, indicating USB drive mode is activated.

  • Open This PC and access the external storage device.

  • Locate the recorded audio files and copy them to your device.

 

For Android Phones

  • Connect the microphone to your phone with a USB A&C to USB-C cable.
  • Press and hold the internal recording button for 5 seconds. Ensure internal recording is disabled before activating USB drive mode. The microphone mute indicator will turn orange, meaning USB drive mode is enabled.
  • Open the Files app on your phone and open the connected external storage.
  • You can find the recorded audio files here and copy them over.
  

For iPhone

  • Connect the microphone to your iPhone using a USB A&C to USB-C cable.
  • Press and hold the internal recording button for 5 seconds. Ensure internal recording is turned off before enabling USB drive mode. The microphone mute indicator will turn orange, confirming USB drive mode is activated.
  • Open the Files app, then locate and open the external storage under Locations.
  • Find your recorded audio files here and copy them to your phone.
 

8. What are the original and processed audio files from Internal Recording?

  • Original file: Raw audio recorded without any processing.
  • Processed file: Audio optimized by algorithms, such as noise cancellation and EQ adjustments.

 

9. How to control monitor output?

Check Mic to monitor audio from the microphone. Check PC to monitor sound from your computer.

10. What are the functions of the compressor and limiter? 

  • Compressor: Stabilizes audio signals and prevents inconsistent volume levels.
  • Limiter: Prevents audio clipping caused by excessive volume.

 

11. What do Mono, Stereo and Safety Track below the level meter mean?

  • Mono: Combines audio signals into a single channel. The left and right channels output identical audio.
  • Stereo: When the receiver (RX) is connected to two microphones, the left and right channels will output separate tracks from each microphone respectively.
  • Safety Track: Two audio streams are output on left and right channels. The left channel plays audio at the original volume, while the right channel serves as a backup track with volume reduced by 9dB.

     Note: The safety audio track is compatible with both the mobile receiver and camera receiver.

 

12. How to tell TX1 and TX2 apart when two microphones are connected simultaneously?

Go to the device page in Maono Link and open the RX General Settings , then enable microphone identification. Once activated, the mute indicator of TX1 will flash purple briefly, while the mute indicator of TX2 will flash cyan briefly.

13. The level meters in the software show no response, but recording works normally?

Check if the level meter switch is turned on.
 
① Click the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the software’s device interface.

② Check whether the level meter switch is enabled.

14. How to enable/disable auto-recording on boot?

Open the device interface in Maono Link, locate Internal Recording, tap Settings, then enable or disable Auto-recording.

15. How to adjust the headphone monitoring volume of the microphone?

① Enter the device interface in Maono Link, find Microphone Monitor, and adjust the slider.

② Short press the knob on the microphone. When  the mute indicator light turns blue, you can adjust the headphone monitoring volume. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the volume.
 
 

16. How to adjust the microphone speaking volume?

① Go to the device interface in the software and adjust the Microphone gain. Higher gain delivers louder sound but also more background noise. Please set it to a proper level.

② Short press the microphone knob. When the mute indicator light turns white, you can adjust the microphone gain. Turning the knob clockwise increases the gain.
 

17. How to switch auto gain?

Locate Microphone gain on the device interface in the software and enable Auto Gain. Select a suitable gear based on your distance to the microphone.

18. How to clear internal recording files when storage is full?

In the device interface of the software, find Internal Recording, click Format, and confirm.

19. How to restore default settings?

① Click the Firmware Update icon in the top-right corner of the device interface.

20. How to Connect the PD500W to Your Audio Interface

Connection Method: Use a standard 3-pin XLR female-to-male audio cable, plug one end into the XLR port on the bottom of the microphone, and connect the other end to a sound card, mixer, or audio interface.

Power Requirements: The PD500W is a dynamic microphone, and there is no need to enable 48V phantom power in XLR mode. Enabling 48V generally will not damage the microphone, but it is recommended to turn it off to reduce potential noise.

21. Battery Life, Charging, and Power Management

Battery Life: The built-in lithium battery can operate continuously for approximately 60 hours in wireless mode (battery life will be correspondingly shorter when onboard recording/DSP is enabled). Charging Method: Charge via the USB-C port using a standard 5V/1A adapter or a computer USB port, and a full charge takes approximately 4 hours. Use While Charging: Supports use while charging. When connected to a computer via USB cable, the device will automatically charge at the same time. Low

Battery Alert: When the battery level is below 10%, the power indicator will flash red, please charge it promptly to prevent abnormal interruption of onboard recording data.

22. Maono Link Software Can't Detect the Device?

  1. Make sure to use a cable with data transfer capability (charging-only cables cannot transfer data).

  2. Confirm that the microphone is not in “USB drive mode” (orange light status), after exporting the files, please press and hold the onboard recording button to exit USB drive mode before opening the software.

  3. Try unplugging and reconnecting the USB port or switching to a USB port on the back panel of the computer.
