The Maono Link app provides DSP tuning for the microphone, letting you adjust and control the DM40 Live Gen2. The app offers three setting sections: Basics, Scenes, and Lights.
The Basics module provides the most frequently used function settings; the Scenes module offers a variety of sound-effect presets; and the Lights module lets you quickly configure the microphone's ambient lighting.
Product Functions
Connection
The wireless microphone receiver (Type-C / Lightning / camera-version RX) can be plugged directly into the phone's charging port. Open the Maono Link app; on first use, a microphone authorization prompt will appear. Microphone control is enabled only after you grant authorization. If you cancel or deny authorization, you will not be able to connect to Maono Link to configure the microphone.

Basics
The Basics module includes the most commonly used functions, such as Recorder, Gain, Headphone Volume, Monitor Output selection, and Bluetooth switch.
1.Microphone Gain
Drag the arc-shaped adjuster to change the microphone's input gain. Up to 20 gain levels are supported. You can choose an appropriate gain level based on your speaking volume and the microphone's distance.

2. Headphone Volume
Drag the arc-shaped adjuster to adjust the headphone volume. You can select an appropriate volume based on your actual scenario.

3. Mute
A Mic icon is located at the far right. Tapping the icon quickly mutes or unmutes the microphone.

4.Hear-Self
Enable Hear-Self to select the audio source that the headphone monitors.

5. Bluetooth
After enabling Bluetooth, connect your phone to the Maono DM40 Live to play backing tracks. The Bluetooth backing track can be output together with the microphone audio.
Features such as Ducking and Voice Effects require Bluetooth to be enabled and the device to be connected before they can be used normally.

6. External Output
Enabling External Output plays the phone's audio through the speaker. Note: after enabling External Output, the headphone amp will no longer play this device's audio.

7. Level Indicator
You can turn the Level Indicator on or off. When turned off, the app will no longer display level fluctuations.

8. Battery Display
The top of the screen shows the microphone's current battery level. When the battery is low, the microphone's indicator light will proactively alert you. Please charge the microphone host promptly.

Scenes
The app presets four scene modes: Chat, Sing, Game, and Recording. Each scene is matched with a tailored combination of audio functions. You can switch scenes with one tap according to your current needs, freely adjust each parameter, and create a personalized sound profile of your own.

● Chat : Suited to live co-streaming, online meetings, daily voice chat, and team communication. It supports Noise Cancellation, backing track, Ducking, Compressor, Limiter, and preset EQ adjustments, ensuring clear and clean vocals and smooth, natural communication.
● Sing : Designed for live singing, online karaoke, and song recording. It provides Reverberation, Noise Cancellation, backing-track volume adjustment, Compressor, Limiter, and preset EQ adjustments, enriching vocal layers and spatial presence for an effortless professional singing quality.
● Game: Built for team gaming, teammate communication, and game live streaming. It comes with the full set of functions—Reverberation, Pitch Shift, Noise Cancellation, backing-track adjustment, Ducking, Compressor, Limiter, and preset EQ—ensuring clear and stable open-mic voice while unlocking fun sound effects and doubling the immersion.
● Recording : Suited to professional recording needs such as audio recording, audiobooks, and narration voice-overs. It opens up full-dimensional adjustments of Reverberation, Noise Cancellation, backing-track adjustment, Ducking, Compressor, Limiter, and preset EQ, delivering high-quality recording output.
Reverberation
In Sing mode, the reverberation function can be adjusted. The reverberator creates a sense of sound in a three-dimensional space by producing a series of echoes with different amplitudes and reflection times.
Preset Reverb: The product presets 10 reverb levels, allowing you to quickly adjust the reverb level according to your personal needs.

Bluetooth Backing Track
You can adjust the volume of the Bluetooth backing track; we provide 0–100 adjustment levels.

Ducking

The Ducking function automatically balances the volume between your voice and the Bluetooth backing track, ensuring your voice stays clear and prominent. When you speak, the Bluetooth backing track automatically lowers in volume; when you stop speaking, the background music automatically returns to its original volume—no manual volume adjustment needed.
Noise Cancellation
Noise Cancellation offers three modes—Slight, Moderate, and Aggressive. You can choose an appropriate level based on the current ambient noise.

You can also switch to the Custom noise cancellation mode. The DM40 Live provides 10 adjustable levels.

Voice Effects
The Voice Effects feature applies to stereo Bluetooth backing tracks; the system removes the vocals from the backing track.

● Original: The backing track is left unprocessed.
● Instrumental: Removes the vocals from the backing track. Both the output backing track and the Hear-Self backing track are processed with vocal removal.
● Sing Along: Unlike Remove Original Vocal, the output backing track is processed with vocal removal, while the Hear-Self backing track retains the original vocals.
Equalizer
Through device tuning, Maono Link equips each scene with a suitable EQ effect. You can choose the effect that suits your preference.

Compressor and Limiter
We provide basic Compressor and Limiter functions. Normally, you only need to adjust the outer Threshold to achieve the desired effect. To further adjust the Compressor and Limiter parameters, tap the "More" icon to open the advanced settings window and adjust the Ratio, Limiting Ratio, Release time, and other parameters.

Lights
● Mode: Four lighting display modes are provided: Fixed, Breathing, Loop, and Froove. You can set different modes according to your personal preference.
● Color: Eight preset colors are provided; tap the corresponding color to complete the microphone lighting setup.
● Brightness: Slide the brightness slider on the right up or down to adjust the lighting brightness. (The wireless microphone runs on battery; excessively high brightness will shorten the microphone's battery life.)

Firmware Update
Firmware Update is the primary way to enhance device functions. The Maono Link app currently supports updating the microphone from an Android phone; other devices are not yet supported. If your phone is not an Android device, please use an Android device or the PC version of Maono Link, and follow the on-screen instructions to update the device firmware.
When an updatable version is available, a red dot will appear in the top-right corner of the device screen. Tap it to enter the Firmware Update page.

Firmware can update the Receiver (RX) and the microphone device (TX); you can update the corresponding device based on actual update needs.
When the Receiver (RX) is connected, the system may detect whether the receiver and the microphone device have version updates available.
When the microphone (TX) is connected, the system may not be able to detect the receiver's version; if the microphone device has an updatable version, a prompt will appear.
Tap Update Now to enter the update process.
⚠️During the update, please note the following:
During the update, the device will restart multiple times, and USB permission authorization will be required. Please tap Agree so the device can update normally.
During the update, do not unplug the device mid-update unless the update is complete, as this may render the device unusable.
When the Receiver RX is connected, you may need to update the Receiver RX and the microphone TX separately. Updating the microphone TX requires a wired connection; please ensure you have a data cable that supports microphone connection nearby to facilitate the device update.
