2. How to charge DM40 LIVE GEN2?

A: Connect a Type‑C cable to the charging port on the bottom of the DM40 LIVE GEN2 microphone for charging. The indicator light turns yellow during charging and switches to green once fully charged.
 

3. How to power on DM40 LIVE GEN2?

A: 1. When powered off, press and hold the power button for more than 3 seconds;
 
2. The microphone will power on automatically when connected to a USB power source if the remaining battery level exceeds 5%.
 

4. How to perform wireless pairing?

A: The microphone and receiver are pre‑paired at the factory. After unboxing, plug the wireless receiver into a computer or mobile device, then long‑press the microphone’s power button to complete automatic pairing.
 
Re‑pairing procedure: Plug the wireless receiver into a computer or mobile device. With the microphone powered off, press and hold the power button for over 6 seconds until the blue power indicator flashes rapidly, indicating entry into re‑pairing mode. Pairing succeeds once the blue power indicator stays solid on.
 

5. Does DM40 LIVE GEN2 support simultaneous wireless and wired connections?

A: Yes, DM40 LIVE GEN2 supports concurrent wireless and wired operation.
 

6. How to activate noise reduction and switch noise reduction levels?

A: Balanced noise reduction is enabled by default from factory. Tap the noise reduction button on the top to cycle through noise reduction modes and custom mode in the sequence: Slight → Moderate → Aggressive → Custom → Off. Select the appropriate level based on ambient noise. Fine‑tuning is also available via Maono Link software.

7. How to activate mute function?

A: 1. Short press the mute button on the top of the microphone to toggle mute on/off;
 
2. On the Maono Link homepage, click the microphone icon below the level meter on the left to enable mute.
 

8. How to enable real‑time monitoring of microphone audio?

A: On the Maono Link homepage, check the MIC (DM40 LIVE GEN2) option under Monitor Output.
 
 

9. How to enable real‑time monitoring of computer system audio?

A: On the Maono Link homepage, check the Computer option under Monitor Output.
 
 

10. How to adjust microphone gain via the multi‑function knob?

A: In default mode, the knob controls microphone gain, with a green indicator light beneath it.
 

11. How to adjust headphone volume via the multi‑function knob?

A: Press and hold the knob for 3 seconds to switch to headphone volume adjustment mode, indicated by a blue underlight.
 

12. How to perform a microphone factory reset?

A: A reset switch is built inside the 3.5mm headphone jack at the bottom of the microphone. Insert a toothpick to press the internal reset button to complete the reset.
 

13. How to pair the microphone with live streaming devices via Bluetooth?

A: On the Maono Link homepage, toggle on the Bluetooth switch under More Functions. Next, activate Bluetooth on your mobile phone or computer, search for “Maono DM40 Live”, tap the device name, accept the pairing pop‑up request, and connection will complete. Maono Link will display the connected device upon successful pairing.
 
Note: Bluetooth only transmits backing track audio and cannot output live vocal signals. After Bluetooth pairing, the blue light under the microphone knob will flash. The microphone will auto power off after 5 minutes if no wired or wireless connection is established with the host device.
 
 

14. How to clear Bluetooth pairing records?

  1. Press and hold the noise reduction button for 2 seconds to erase Bluetooth pairing data and initialize the unit for new Bluetooth connection.
  2. On the Maono Link homepage, tap Clear next to the Bluetooth option to remove all pairing records.

 

15. How to adjust Bluetooth backing track volume?

A: On the Maono Link homepage, switch to the Scene tab, tick Bluetooth Backing Track, and adjust the volume slider freely.
 
 

16. How to activate the ducking function?

A: Navigate to the Scene tab on Maono Link homepage. Under Chat, Game and Recorder modes, enable the Ducking switch next to Bluetooth Backing Track. Ducking is unavailable in Singing mode.
 
 

17. What is the function of ducking?

Ducking automatically balances the volume between vocals and Bluetooth backing tracks to keep voice audio prominent.
 
The backing track volume attenuates automatically when you speak and restores to original volume once you stop talking, eliminating manual volume adjustment.
 

18. How to adjust microphone reverberation?

A: On the Maono Link homepage, switch to the Scene tab and select Sing Mode below. Tick the Reverberation option to freely adjust the reverberation parameter value. Custom reverb presets are also available for selection.
 
Note: The reverberation function is only accessible under Sing Mode and cannot be activated in other scene modes.
 
 

19. How to enable singing vocal effects?

A: On the Maono Link homepage, switch to the Scene tab and select Singing Mode at the bottom.
 Three singing vocal effects are available for selection: Original ,Instrumental , and Sing Along.
 
Note: Sing vocal effects are exclusive to Sing Mode and cannot be accessed in other scene modes.
 
 

20. How to activate pitch shift (voice morphing)?

A: On the homepage of Maono Link, navigate to the Scene tab. Select Game Mode and check the Pitch Shift option. 
You may choose from preset voice tones including Monster, Male, Female and Baby.
Custom pitch shifting is also provided with 20 adjustable levels for fine tuning.
 
 

21. How to adjust microphone EQ parameters?

A:On the MaonoLink homepage, switch to the Scenes page and scroll to Preset EQ. Tap New or Create Custom to create a custom EQ. Tap Import to load an external EQ profile, and tap Export to save your customized EQ settings. Preset EQs do not support the export function.
 
 
 

22. How to toggle the Co‑Host switch?

A: The Co‑Host switch is located at the bottom of the microphone. Slide left to ON to enable co‑host mode: system audio from the computer can be monitored but not recorded. Slide right to OFF to disable co‑host mode: computer system audio can be both monitored and captured.
 
 

23. How to turn on RGB lighting?

A: 1. Short press the power button while the microphone is powered on to activate RGB lighting;
 
2. Go to the Light tab on Maono Link homepage and enable the RGB Lighting toggle.
 
 
 

24. How to switch RGB lighting effects?

A: On the Maono Link homepage, enter the Light tab after enabling RGB lighting.
 
Available effects include Fixed, Breathing, Loop and Beat Groove which can be switched with one click.
 
 
 

25. How to select RGB light colors?

A: On the Maono Link homepage, navigate to the Light tab with RGB lighting enabled.
 
Tap different color icons under Color Selection to switch lighting hues.
 
 

26. How to adjust RGB light brightness?

A: On the Maono Link homepage, open the Light tab with RGB lighting activated. Drag the Brightness slider left or right to adjust luminosity.
 
 

27. How to activate sound effects?

A: On the MaonoLink homepage, switch to the Sound Effects tab.
 
Within the sound effects panel, tap any effect to play the corresponding sound effect.
 
 

28. How to import custom sound effects?

A: On the Maono Link homepage, enter the Sound Effects tab and tap Add on the panel to import custom audio files.
 
Supports MP3, WAV, AIFF, and AAC files. Maximum file size: 3 MB.
 
 

29. How to turn off the level meter display?

A: On the MaonoLink main page, click the three horizontal lines icon in the upper right corner, then select Settings. Go to the Level Switch section and choose Off.
 
 

30. How to perform firmware update?

A: On the MaonoLink main page, click the three horizontal lines menu icon in the upper right corner, then select Firmware Update. If new firmware is available, click Update to start the upgrade.
 
 

31. How to update Maono Link software?

A: On the MaonoLink main page, click the three horizontal lines menu icon in the upper right corner, then select About Maono. If a new version is available, click Install Now to complete the update.
 
 
 

32. How to connect and use with a computer?

A: First turn on the microphone power supply, then plug the wireless receiver into your computer.
If your computer has no Type‑C port, use the adapter included in the package.
Follow the setup guide below to finish computer configuration.

Windows 11

  1. Right‑click the sound icon at the bottom right of the desktop and select Sound settings.
  2. Scroll down and click More sound settings.
  3. Under the Playback tab, select DM40 Live Gen2 Wireless RX and set it as your default device.
  4. Switch to the Recording tab, select DM40 Live Gen2 Wireless RX and set it as your default device.
  5. Double‑click DM40 Live Gen2 Wireless RX and turn the volume level up to 100.
  6. Click OK to save all settings.

macOS

  1. Click the Apple icon at the top left of the desktop.
  2. Open System Settings (formerly System Preferences).
  3. Select Sound from the list of options.
  4. Under the Input tab, select DM40 Live Gen2 Wireless RX and drag the input volume slider to maximum.
  5. Switch to the Output tab, select DM40 Live Gen2 Wireless RX, then adjust the output volume to your preference.

 

33. What does the purple indicator light on the microphone signify?

A: 1. Under wired USB‑C connection, the power indicator turns purple when the microphone detects a valid host device (computer/mobile phone) and establishes audio input connection.
 
2. The indicator switches to purple when Singing mode is selected under the Scene tab in Maono Link.
 

34. How many microphones can one receiver support at maximum?

A: 1 microphone only.
 

35. What polar pattern does DM40 LIVE GEN2 adopt?

A: Cardioid polar pattern.
 
 

36. How to check the remaining battery level of the microphone?

A: 1. View the exact battery percentage directly on the Maono Link homepage;
 
2. Judge residual power via the microphone’s indicator light (refer to diagram).

A: Maximum supported sampling rate: 48kHz; Bit depth: 24bit.
 
 

38. Where should the user speak relative to the microphone?

39. Can DM40 LIVE GEN2 be connected to an external audio interface?

A: The microphone is not equipped with an XLR port and does not support connection to external audio interfaces.
 

40. How to export recorded audio files from Maono Link?

A: Tap the designated icon to export finished recording files.
 
 

41. What are the functions of compressor and limiter? What are the recommended parameter values?

Compressor: Stabilizes audio signal volume to eliminate inconsistent loudness. Recommended setting: -18dB ~ -12dB.
 
Limiter: Prevents audio clipping and signal overload. Recommended setting: -6dB ~ -3dB.
 

42. Why does the microphone power off automatically?

If wireless pairing fails and no wired connection is active, the microphone’s blue indicator will flash continuously.
 
The unit will shut down automatically after approximately 5 minutes. Reconnect and re‑pair for normal use.
 
 

43. Which operating systems support the PC version of Maono Link?

Windows: Windows 10 Build 1809 and above, Windows 11 (32‑bit / 64‑bit).
 
macOS: macOS 13.5 and later versions.
 

44. How many mobile/computer devices can DM40 LIVE GEN2 connect to simultaneously?

It supports a maximum of 3 mobile phones or computers connected at the same time, via wired, wireless and Bluetooth respectively.
 
Note that Bluetooth connection must be used together with either a wired or wireless microphone connection.
 

45. What is the maximum continuous recording duration supported by PC Maono Link?

1 hour. For recordings longer than one hour, third‑party recording software is recommended.
 

46. What file format do recordings exported from PC Maono Link use?

WAV format.
 

47. With only one mobile phone or computer, how to output both vocals and backing tracks during single‑device live streaming?

Pair the microphone with the mobile/computer via USB cable or wireless receiver, enable backing track and live streaming functions, then toggle off the Co‑Host switch at the bottom of the microphone.
 

48. How to adjust microphone gain and headphone volume for daily use?

Microphone gain controls vocal output loudness. The optimal speaking distance is two fist widths from the microphone, with gain set around 10 for this distance. Increase gain moderately if speaking further away.
 
Headphone volume controls monitoring loudness and can be adjusted freely according to personal listening comfort.
 

49. How to store the microphone during long‑term idle periods?

DM40 LIVE GEN2 contains a built‑in lithium battery. For long‑term storage, place the unit in a cool, dry and moisture‑proof environment. Maintain an appropriate battery charge level to mitigate capacity degradation over prolonged storage, and regular use/maintenance is recommended.
 

50. How to clean dust and debris on the microphone?

Power off the microphone first. Gently brush surface dust with a dry soft brush.
 
Wipe the metal mesh grille with a half‑dry cotton swab dipped in anhydrous ethanol. Wait for alcohol to fully evaporate before powering on to avoid liquid infiltration into internal components.
 
Store the microphone in the dust‑proof pouch when unused for extended periods to prevent dust accumulation and moisture damage.
