A04 Gen2 User Guide
FUNCTIONAL OUTLINE
Multi-functional: The A04 Gen2 microphone supports both XLR and USB connections. When using XLR connection, it can support up to 24bit /192kHz analog audio sampling. When connected via USB, 24bit /48kHz digital audio sampling with on-board DSP can be used.
Compatibility: It can be used in conjunction with Windows and Mac devices via USB-C. The Maono Link software can be installed on the Windows system for device tuning and will soon support the MacOS system.
Advanced DSP functions: Through Maono Link, functions such as microphone muting, gain, noise reduction, and scene tuning can be adjusted quickly.
Scene-based audio tuning: Preset original sound, recorded voiceover, podcast, game and live streaming scenes. Each scene has pre-stored preset sound effects. Choosing different presets can meet your audio tuning needs in various scenes. It also supports various personalized tuning.
1. Basic
Microphone Gain
The gain supports users to adjust from 0 to 100 levels. We provide the best recommended range. You can adjust the microphone gain according to your usage habits.

Noise Cancellation
The A04 Gen2 noise cancellation offers three modes: Slight, Moderate and Aggressive. Generally, if the noise level in the noisy environment is relatively low, you can choose the slight noise cancellation mode.

Recorder
The default recording format is 48kHz/16bit, Wave format audio, and audio recorded through Maono Link can be exported to your destination folder.

2. Scene
We offer five commonly used scene, which is the original, recording, podcast, streaming and game in scene section. Each scene provides multiple available sound configurations. When you are playing games or doing live streaming, you can choose the one of configurations for you microphone. When you click on a scene, the currently preset will be automatically configured. If you need to preset a scene, you can change the default configuration in the drop-down list of the scene.

Sound Configuration
For each scene, we provides some sound configurations for presets, and each configuration have a graphical parametric equalizer (PEQ). The preset PEQ is not allowed to be modified. If you think the effect doesn't meet your expectations, you can click the "Copy" button to completely copy a set of the current configuration data. And then you can adjust the sound on the spot. You can create multiple custom configurations under a scene. The custom configurations can be exported and shared with your friends. Moreover, you can import sound effects suitable for the A04 Gen2 product in the form of files. Later, we will also open the way of downloading from the official website to provide users with more scene sound effects. You just need to download and then import them to use.

Copy and New
Within the scene, select "Copy" or "+" on the menu bar to create a customized configuration. When you click "+" for creating a new one, you will be prompted to set a name. And when you click "Copy" for copying this for a new one, a copy based on the current configuration will be created directly. You can modify the configuration name in the drop-down list.

Reset the configuration
The menu bar of the scene provides a reset button. The customized sound configuration can be restored to the original parameter settings using this function.

Export and Delete
In the "More" option of the menu bar, you can export or delete the sound configuration. When you choose to export a configuration, the current sound configuration data will be exported to the location where you want to save it. Click on the "Delete" function will delete the sound configuration that you have created by yourself. The sound configuration that have been debugged can be shared with other friends who own the A04 Gen2 microphone. Your friends can add the sound configuration files into their own scene through the import function.

Import configuration
Within the scene section, on the right side of the "My Scene" title bar, we provide an entry for "Import". Here, you can choose to import the sound configuration files shared by your friends. The imported sound configuration will be added to the sound configuration list of the corresponding scene. When you choose to apply the sound configuration, you will experience the same tone as your friends.

EQ
Each sound configuration within the scene includes PEQ. The preset offers High-Pass Filter (HPF), Low-Pass Filter (LPF) and five bands. By dragging the bands, you can enhance or attenuate the gain of specified frequencies, thus achieving the effect of adjusting the microphone sound. Each frequency point adopts Peaking filtering by default with a fixed Q value. If you need to adjust it by yourself, you can adjust the parameter values within the Band property window. In subsequent updates, we will open up more adjustment parameters.

Limiter and compressor
When you are adjusting the scene, we provide a basic compressor and limiter. Usually, you only need to adjust the threshold on the outside to ensure a relatively good effect. When you need to further adjust the compressor that suits you, you can click to open "More". In the new window, adjust the parameters such as the compression ratio, inflection point width, start time, release time, gain compensation, and threshold.

3. Firmware Upgrade
Click on the option in the upper right corner to open the option menu. Here, you can click on "Firmware Upgrade" to detect new firmware updates.

Firmware Upgrade
When there is a new firmware update available, the specific version that needs to be updated will be displayed. You can click on "Firmware Upgrade" to start upgrading the new firmware. After the upgrade is completed, please reconnect the microphone once so that the new firmware can take effect.

Attention: Do not unplug the USB when upgrading. Abnormal disconnection will cause the upgrade to fail and make the device unusable. Please operate according to the upgrade prompts.
If you encounter a situation where the firmware upgrade fails, just click "Retry". If you have any problems, please contact us in a timely manner through the customer service of the store where you purchased the product or via our official phone channels.
Restore factory settings
On the firmware upgrade page, we provide the function of restoring factory settings. It is usually used when you encounter abnormal debugging so as to restore all parameters to the factory state.
