Installation & Setup
Step 1: Installation
1. Obtain the 🧷Maono Link installer
2. Double-click the downloaded .exe file and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
Step 2: Launch Maono Link
Click the desktop icon to open Maono Link.
When launching the app for the first time, follow the built-in guide to complete the introductory tutorial.

Step 3: Register & Log In
Log in or register using your phone number. Sign-in is required to access the AI voice features.

Step 4: Connect Your Microphone
Maono Link will automatically detect your microphone. Press the default hotkey to activate the AI voice functions.

Default Hotkeys:
● Voice Input: Right Alt
● Voice Translation::Right Alt + Shift
Incompatible models: DM30, DM30RGB, PD100X series, PD400X, PM450, DM50. Some older Maono microphones do not support connection with Maono Link and related AI features.

How to Use the Microphone for Voice Input
Voice Input
1. Place your cursor
Position the cursor in editable areas such as documents, chat windows or search bars. Voice input works anywhere text can be typed.

2. Press the Right Alt key to start voice input
When a flashing recording bar appears above the taskbar, you can start speaking.

3. Press the Right Alt key again to stop voice input
Press the Right Alt key again to stop recording. The transcribed text will be pasted to your cursor position.
💡Tip: Use the same hotkey to start and end recording.
⚠️Notice: All voice input content will be saved in the history records. You can check or delete records at any time.

4. View voice input history
Go to the AI tab on the homepage to check all your past voice input records.

Voice Input Modes
Maono Link provides two voice input modes with distinct features:
●Offline Local Mode: Fast response, runs locally without network connection, completely free of charge.
● Online AI Model: Higher transcription accuracy with standardized text output. Performance can be updated online. A registered account is required.
How to Switch Modes
1. Click the menu icon (≡) at the top right corner of the software.

Voice Translation
Activate Voice Translation.
1. Place your cursor in any editable text field
Place your cursor in documents, chat windows, search bars or other editable text fields. It works anywhere you can type text.

2. Press the shortcut Right Alt + Shift and start speaking
When a flashing recording bar appears above the taskbar, you may begin your voice input. The target translation language will be displayed at the top.

3. Press Right Alt + Shift to end voice translation.
Once recording stops, Maono Link will paste the translated text at your cursor position.
💡The translation feature is cloud-based. Please register and log in in the User Center to use it.
⚠️Notice: All voice entries will be saved in records. You can check them for reference or delete them completely.

Supported Languages
This version supports translation between Chinese and English, with target languages including Chinese, English, Russian, Indonesian, Spanish, French, Korean, Thai, German and Japanese.
You can change the translation languages in Settings.

Privacy Protection
● All input records are stored locally, and you can set the retention period for history logs.
● Once you delete the history records, all locally stored data will be permanently erased.

Troubleshooting
Lost Transcribed Text
The text will be pasted into the input field when your cursor is in place. If the cursor is lost accidentally, the content will appear on the pop-up clipboard. Click Copy to prevent data loss.

Your input history is saved automatically, so you never have to worry about data loss.
All recordings and texts are stored locally on your device and can only be viewed within your set retention period. To protect your privacy, local files will be deleted automatically once the period expires.

Maximum Recording Duration
The maximum recording length is 5 minutes. You will get a reminder when only one minute remains. If you reach the time limit, the completed content will be saved to history. You can then start a new recording.

How to Fix Permission Issues
If no audio activity shows on the recording bar and no text is generated after stopping, there may be issues with microphone settings or permissions. Please follow the steps below:
1. Microphone Check
If you use a wireless receiver (RX), make sure the desktop microphone is powered on before use.
For macOS
2. Fix Accessibility Permission
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility, then enable Maono Link.
3. Fix Microphone Permission
Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone, and ensure Maono Link is turned on.
How to Resolve Hotkey Conflicts
Windows: The app will alert you during hotkey configuration. Replace conflicting keys with other options.
macOS: If the Fn key or custom hotkeys malfunction, they may be occupied by system functions.
Follow these steps to check and resolve conflicts:
1. Open System Settings.
2. Select Keyboard.
3. Check for existing shortcuts or special functions assigned to your target keys.
4. Disable or reassign them to eliminate interference.

Software Updates
Resource Update
”When you launch Maono Link for the first time after installation, the local model will be installed automatically, which may take a while. You will be notified once the download is finished. If you press the Alt key to start voice input at this stage, the prompt "Local model resources are being prepared. Please try again later." will appear.

You can switch to the large voice model via Menu > Voice Input in the upper-right corner of the app. Please register and log in as prompted before use. New users will receive free usage time.

Version Updates
The AI features receive multiple incremental updates every month. You don't need to download the full installer. You will be notified to install new updates when they are available.

FAQ
1. What platforms are supported?
Currently, it is only available for desktop systems: Windows and macOS (adaptation in progress).

2. Does the voice input function work with all applications?
Once enabled, you can transcribe voice to text in any documents and input fields:
● Documents(Office/Google/Chrome .etc)
● Messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, etc.)
● Email clients
● All text editors
3. Why are these permissions required?
macOS:
Accessibility Permission
This permission allows Maono Link to insert transcribed text directly at your cursor position in documents, messaging apps and other editable fields. It also enables voice dictation via function keys (Fn), so you can start speaking without switching apps or clicking buttons.
Microphone Permission
Maono Link needs access to your microphone to capture audio and convert speech into text.
